The Ideal Place, a colorful bistro situated in the heart of Benton Harbor’s Art District, has re-opened under original owner, Chris Kasperzak, and local favorite, Ideal Place Chef, Barb Clark.  

In 2003 The Ideal Place was awarded the Merlin Hanson Challenge Award presented by Cornerstone Alliance and Chamber of Commerce. 

Our goal is to continue to support the community to help it flourish through our dedication and commitment to the growth of Michigan’s Great Southwest and the Benton Harbor Arts and Business District.  

The emphasis is to build on the restaurant’s success in the past, but to also reflect and usher in a new decade of dining in the Benton Harbor Arts District.
